Efficiency of lift transport and accuracy

Purchasing specialists need to have an on-site verification of the received merchandise (type and quantity) and later input details into the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system via a fixed computer. The process is time consuming, with a high error rate and a risk of fraud because of lacking supervision.

In warehouses with a high inventory turnover, traditional way of manually counting and transcribing inventory changes leads to heavy workload, high potential for human errors, and delayed timing of data sharing. An accurate and real-time inventory tracking and management is an illusion, and data-driven inventory control cannot be realized.

Operators decide a put-away place based on their past experience. When a type of products need to change their usual slots, operators cannot timely find another suitable put-away location, and later cannot pick the right stock from the right slot. Inaccurate put-away data prevents operators from seeing where exactly a product is stored and how much storage space is left.

Workers physically inspect warehouse equipment on a regular basis. They make notes on paper and then input them into computer. It is time-consuming, error-prone and labor-intensive. Also, employee fraud may happen.

Warehouse operators pick items based on directors' voice orders and paper pick lists. Wrong transaction or any other kind of mistakes are inevitable, for there is no effective system to verify transactions in real time. Workers need to manually write down each transaction and then input these inventory changes into the ERP system via computer on a daily basis. Consequently, distribution centers or retailers cannot make data-driven marketing decisions.

There is no fleet management system to monitor drivers' behavior, cargo condition and vehicle health. Drivers' violations, such as over speeding and stealing from the fleet, cannot be timely identified, and vehicle malfunction and cargo abnormal condition cannot be detected. In cases of one driver performing multiple tasks, or one vehicle being assigned to multiple drivers, the optimization of workforce and vehicles is difficult to achieve.

Delivering orders on time to customers is the last mile of retailing businesses and the final step to enhance customer experience. When customers do not have access to their orders' status, when delivery men need to do extra work to send back the signed delivery orders to offices, when a parcel gets damaged after customer opens it, neither customers nor retailers will be satisfied.

In long distance shipping, mechanize need to experience several transits in multiple distribution centers, so do physical shipping orders. Workers in distribution centers do not have access to the real-time status of one shipment. Lack of transparency leads to impossibility of tracing back to the exact step where things go wrong when incidents occur.
